The Catch by Alison Fairbrother

This is just a quick shout out for the newish shortish novel The Catch, by Alison Fairbrother. This story of a young journalist coming to terms with her beloved father’s past starts out fun, but for me at least, ends up being deeply moving. It examines the ways in which women love men—fathers, bosses, lovers—and at what cost to themselves and their relationships with other women (mothers, bosses, friends), and it does so with insight, sympathy, and deep intelligence.
Enjoy!
